The SDWLA conference is the only available professional development opportunity in the state specific to language teaching. Historically, the association offers sessions from nationally known speakers and language specific organizations, split sessions provided by faculty from several universities in the state and other experienced teachers, meetings of the language-specific associations, and lots of opportunities for networking with other language professionals.
